-Ideal for hardening lines (Hamon)
-Hardness of about 61-62 HRC
-Color if used in Damascus steel: dark grey
-Perfect for sharpness level A and B
-Welding in the fire "almost by itself"
-Perfect to increase the proportion of carbon in Damascus steel

Hardening 820 ° C / annealing at 160 ° C for 1 h = ca. 61-63 HRC.
(NOTE: No time to lose on the way from the stove to the oil, otherwise it will not be quite so hard!)

Important info: The Steel is soft annealed and comes to us in big sheets (about 2x1m). The sheets are cut for us into stripes of 40 to 60mm.
Because of the cutting process the steel may be a little twisted, but it is easy to bend it straight again by using your knee, a vice, or hammer and anvil.

Gut für Damaststahl

Die Warnung, dass der Stahl nur teilweise leicht verbogen ist, ist meiner Meinung nach etwas untertrieben. Ich habe den Stahl nun schon zweimal bestellt und beide Male war er ziemlich stark verbogen und vor allem verdreht. Um Damaststahl herzustellen, stellt dies kein Problem dar. Bei anderweitiger Nutzung kann sich dies jedoch durchaus als problematisch erweisen. Stellen Sie sich darauf ein, viel Arbeit zu investieren, um das Material gerade zu bekommen.
