Overview of blacksmithing courses
Knife forging course or Damascus (2 days)?
In the knife forging course, you’ll gain your first hands-on experience in knife forging and knife making. Here, you’ll craft your own knife from monosteel (a single piece of steel). In the Damascus forging course, the focus is on forging a kitchen, hunting, or outdoor knife from a Damascus steel billet to create your own unique blade. When forging Damascus, you combine different types of steel into a layered package. Damascus steel stands out thanks to its beautifully distinctive pattern.
Two or three days of Damascus forging? I can’t decide!
Both courses involve forging a knife from Damascus steel. In our 3-day forging course, your creativity has almost no limits when it comes to designing the blade. In the 2-day course, you forge a knife with around 160 layers of Damascus, and in the 3-day course up to 300 layers, with the option to forge a hidden tang. No prior experience is required for any of our courses. Our experienced instructors will guide and support you throughout the entire workshop.
