Titanium Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5) – spring-hard

Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5) is the most widely used titanium alloy and is convincing thanks to a high strength-to-weight ratio and high corrosion resistance. In its spring-hard form, this material is particularly suitable for knife making. The dimensions of this cut are 2,0 mm thickness / 40 mm width / 120 mm length.

Properties and applications

  • Lightweight and corrosion-resistant.
  • Spring-hard and dimensionally stable.
  • Ideal as a liner or spring for folding knives.
  • As thin handle material or as a spacer.

Notes

Titanium is an alloy and not a hardenable tool steel; an HRC hardness value in the sense of a blade hardness is therefore not applicable.
