Essential Diamond Leather – Replacement Diamond Plate 60 × 200 mm (1000 grit)
Restore your Essential Diamond Leather to full sharpening performance. The original Schmiedeglut replacement diamond plate with a fine 1000 grit (15 µm) ensures fast and even material removal—even on high-quality knife steels up to 68–70 HRC. Thanks to the self-adhesive backing, you can easily replace the plate and have your sharpening system ready for use again in no time.
Replacing the Diamond Plate
- Carefully peel off the old diamond plate, starting at one corner. If it’s difficult to remove, you can gently warm the adhesive with a hair dryer to make removal easier.
- Completely remove any adhesive residue from the backing surface and clean the surface thoroughly.
- Peel off the protective paper from the new diamond plate.
- Carefully align the plate and apply it evenly to the mounting surface.
- Press firmly across the entire surface and let the adhesive cure for a few hours before using the sharpener.
Tip: For optimal adhesion, the bonding surface and surrounding area should be clean, dry, and dust-free. Room temperature (approx. 20–25 °C) is ideal for application.
