The Zerstörer
The No. 1 forestry tool
The universal forestry tool for all rough tasks in nature. Developed in collaboration with the well-known survival specialist Stefan Hinkelmann from Survival Deutschland.
Our Zerstörer is primarily used outdoors. The knife is extremely robust and therefore particularly suitable for rough work such as splitting or chopping.
To get the most out of the knife, it is best to vary the grip position.
Hold the knife far back with your index, middle, and ring fingers for longer leverage and maximum force when chopping.
Holding the knife with all five fingers on the handle ensures optimum slip resistance in bad weather or during long periods of work.
Holding it at the front (with your index finger in the finger groove on the blade) gives you perfect balance and allows you to carve even the finest feather sticks.

Materials
The Zerstörer owes its outstanding properties to the extremely robust and very sharp carbon steel 1.2235 (not stainless).
The blade has a hardness of approx. 60 HRC Rockwell.
The blade grind combines a genuine Scandinavian grind (without micro bevel) with a robust flat grind. The Scandinavian grind ensures maximum sharpness and maneuverability.
The blade is able to penetrate deeper into the wood and even thick branches can be cut off with just one stroke.
The knife handle is made of the very robust and durable composite material Micarta and has a rock finish, giving the knife a very good grip.
The handle scales are screwed on.
Care instructions
As the steel is not a stainless material, a few points should be noted to ensure that you can enjoy the blade for a long time.
- The knife should not be exposed to moisture or acids for long periods of time.
- It should NEVER be placed in the dishwasher.
- Aggressive cleaning additives and high water temperatures would only damage the blade.
- After use, the knife should be cleaned by hand with lukewarm water and mild detergent and then dried thoroughly.
- If not used for a long period of time, the blade can be preserved with a few drops of acid-free oil.
A characteristic feature of carbon steels is the so-called patina. This forms after only a short time. This is completely normal and does not damage the blade. On the contrary, it actually protects the knife blade from rust.
